Fragrance and cosmetics require a different inspection standard because packaging, storage, hygiene, and seller provenance affect both value and usability.
Start with seller and package identity
Compare the product name, size, concentration, shade or formula, included pieces, packaging photographs, and seller identity. A gift set should list every item and volume rather than relying on a decorative image.
Inspect storage-sensitive signs
Look for leakage, broken seals, damaged pumps, separation, unusual discoloration, heat exposure, or inconsistent labeling. Batch information can help identify production timing, but it should not be treated as a stand-alone authenticity guarantee.
Know the hygiene return rule
Many retailers limit returns once a seal is broken. Read the rule before testing, document visible damage first, and contact the seller promptly when the delivered condition differs from the listing.
